Maximum PC’s “Surface-like” DIY computer

Check out this neat video. It’s a DIY multi-touch display interface powered by open source software.

Supposedly they assembled this multitouch display for $350 plus some computer parts they had around the office. Either way, it didn’t cost them the $12,000 Microsoft charges for their Surface system.

Whenever someone or possibly a business decides that success has become attained, progress stops.

Hi Malorie, I kind of get what you’re saying, but I’m not sure it fits in the context.

Since this post, Microsoft has launched an updated Surface system, at half the cost of their original and with greater functionality and aesthetics.

Still, I love DIY projects that people come up with. I’ve done computer modding in the past, and the ingenuity of individuals can be inspiring.
